What if I have no money or insurance?

We can help whether or not you have insurance. If you don’t have insurance, we can help you apply for coverage through MNSure or the MN Family Planning Program. If you don’t qualify for any insurance programs, we will charge only what you can afford to pay. No one is ever turned away if they can’t pay for services.

Am I the right age to get help?

At the Arcade location, you can get medical care or counseling if you’re 11-24. At SafeZone, you can get help if you’re 14-24.

Are you LGBTQ-friendly?

Yes! All locations of Face to Face are LGBTQ-friendly and inclusive, so you don’t have to worry about not being affirmed for who you are.

Do I need to bring my parent to appointments at the clinic? Will my parents find out if I come to the clinic?

You don’t need to bring a parent or caregiver to your appointment if you’re getting reproductive care like getting birth control, STI screening, etc., and all care is confidential.

If you’re getting general medical care like a wellness check-up or a flu shot and you’re under 18, you do need a parent or caregiver with you.

Why go to SafeZone?

If you’re age 14-24 and could use support to meet your basic needs, we can help. You don’t need an appointment to go to SafeZone—just walk in anytime Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. More info on SafeZone here.

Can I get help at SafeZone if I am not homeless?

You don’t have to be homeless to go to SafeZone. Most of the youth who come to SafeZone are experiencing homelessness of some kind, whether that means staying with friends, couch-surfing, or moving from place to place. If you need help finding or keeping housing, getting food, getting clothes, and receiving personal care items, walk in to SafeZone.

Where can I get counseling?

We offer counseling at our Arcade and SafeZone locations. At the Arcade location, if you’re 11-24, you can meet with a counselor with an appointment or walk in. At SafeZone, our walk-in therapist is available whenever the center is open. Counselors can come to your home through the in-home therapy program.

How can I get to SafeZone on the bus or train?

You can catch the 70 bus or the 63 bus at Sunray or Highland Park to downtown on 4th and Broadway. You can catch the 21 from Midway or in Minneapolis on Lake Street to downtown on 4th and Broadway.

What should I expect the first time I come to SafeZone?

When you walk into SafeZone, take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor and tell the front desk staff that it’s your first time at SafeZone. A drop-in advocate will give you a tour and explain all the things you can do there. You’ll sit down with the advocate and complete a 15–20 minute intake meeting. This information is confidential.

What can I do at SafeZone?

You can eat two hot meals a day, take a shower, do laundry, and get personal care items (shampoo, soap, etc.). You can also meet with a counselor, meet with a case manager to find housing and jobs, go to sexuality workshops, learn independent living skills, and more.

Do you accept workman’s comp?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept workman’s compensation at this time.
